About a year ago I got an ashcan of Moon Rush at
Dallas Comic and Toy Convention #3. It seemed to be
an interesting comic, but I really couldn’t tell from
the disjointed ashcan. Obviously, it was the creators’
evil ploy to get me to buy their book when it came
out. Well it succeeded and frankly, I’m glad it did.
Moon Rush is about two different cultures. One of the
cultures is the Ghorn, who’s home planet was blown
away by an asteroid called Vega. Now their existence is dependent upon
life orbs. Their prince is an invalid and is draining the
power from all the life orbs they have on their
planet. The Ghorn must now expand and take the life
orbs from elsewhere.
The Tullosar Alliance claims to have an alliance of
trust and perfection. No one has ever refused to join
the Tullosar Alliance. The Tullosar Alliance scares
the bejeebies out of me. And it looks like they and
the Ghorn are poised to have themselves one heck of a
fight.
This issue does a lot of character and world set up,
and it does it well. It’s a very good book. The art
doesn’t look like most of the stuff DC and Marvel put
out, but it’s very nice and appropriate with the
story.
Unfortunately, they don’t have a place listed to go buy
their comic on the webpage, but I’m willing to bet
that if you e-mailed them and asked how to get a copy,
they’d sell you one. You should definitely pick it
up. It’s only going to be a four issue mini-series
and it’s GOOD!
